FAQ

How Do I Book a Consultation?
You can reach out through my contact form on my website (see “Contact Me” button), email me at agarvett@wholelifetherapygroup.com, or call me at (904) 452-4979. I’ll respond within 24 business hours to schedule a free 25-minute Zoom or phone consultation, where we can see if it feels like a good fit and answer any questions you have.
-
How Much Do Sessions Cost?
My current fee is $185 per 50-minute individual session and $195 per 50-minute couples and family session. I’ll always be upfront about costs and can offer guidance on making therapy a sustainable investment for you. I reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots based on need and availability—feel free to ask about this.
-
Do You Take Insurance?
I choose not to contract with insurance so I can offer more privacy, flexibility, and personalized care, but I can provide a monthly superbill (receipt for services) that you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. I recommend checking with your insurance provider to see what your plan covers.
-
How Long Are Sessions?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long. In some cases, 80 minute sessions are offered as an option when it feels helpful to slow down, go deeper, or give everyone in the room more time to be heard. We’ll always collaborate on what works best for your goals and schedule.
-
How Often Do We Meet?
Most clients start with weekly sessions. This helps build momentum and gives us a strong foundation to work from, especially in the beginning. Over time, we can adjust the frequency based on your needs and progress. My goal is always to work myself out of a job; to help you create meaningful, lasting change so you no longer need therapy to feel like yourself.
-
What Happens In The First Session?
Our first session is about getting to know you. We’ll talk about what brings you in, what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, and I’ll ask some questions to better understand your story. You don’t need to prepare anything—just come as you are.
-
Can I Work With You Short-Term or Long-Term?
Both are welcome. Some clients come for a few months to work through a specific challenge; others stay longer to dive deeper into patterns, relationships, and personal growth. We’ll tailor the length of therapy to your needs.
-
Do You Ever See Just One Person in Couples or Family Therapy?
I typically work with the full system—both partners or all family members in the room—since that’s where real change happens. In some high-intensity cases, I may meet with someone individually, but any solo work is always in service of the relationship and meant to bring insights back into the shared space.
